BBC Worldwide Productions is headquartered in Los Angeles. Led by Jane Tranter, BBC Worldwide Productions develops new and innovative programs for U.S networks, as well as taking acclaimed British formats, both scripted and unscripted, and packaging them for U.S. audiences, as well as digital series.  Jane and her team work with producers and rights holders in the BBC, the UK’s independent production community, and talent in the U.S.  

BBC Worldwide Productions’ most recognized ongoing success is Dancing with the Stars, which launched in 2005 on ABC.The format has since become an international success and continues to dominate U.S. television household viewer ratings in both the fall and spring seasons. Commanding over 55 hours of original programming each year, the reality dance competition program has been nominated for 32 Emmys® and taken home seven wins.

In 2009, BBC Worldwide Productions expanded its scripted ambitions with the arrival of Jane Tranter, Julie Gardner (Executive Producer, Doctor Who, Torchwood) and Russell T Davies (Writer, Doctor Who, Torchwood).  A drama and comedy slate is in development.

Programs currently in production include Torchwood: Miracle Day (Starz), Top Gear (HISTORY), Dancing with the Stars (ABC) and What Not to Wear (TLC).

BBC Worldwide Productions also entered the digital area in 2011 with Gigi: Almost American (My Damn Channel), marking the company’s first ever digital series.
