BBC Worldwide’s Sales & Distribution business manages global content sales across  television, VOD and DVD in Central and South America.  

The Sales & Distribution team hosts a BBC Showcase Latin America event each year – historically in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - which is attended by broadcasters from across Latin America and the U.S. Hispanic market.  BBC Showcase is Latin America’s only television market hosted by a single television distributor and provides an opportunity for BBC Worldwide to unveil its wide range of dynamic new television content that complements its existing, unrivaled catalog.

BBC WORLDWIDE CHANNELS

BBC Worldwide operates two wholly-owned television channels in Latin America - BBC Entertainment, modeled after BBC America in the U.S., and CBeebies, the BBC’s channel dedicated to preschool aged children and their caregivers.

Both channels are available in 15 countries throughout Central and South America through a distribution agreement with Televisa Networks.  The Spanish language CBeebies channel is also accessible to the U.S. Hispanic market via DISH Network’s Dish Latino.

BBC WORLDWIDE CONTENT & PRODUCTION

BBC Worldwide’s Content and Production business has established exclusive production partnerships with independent Latin American production companies GP Media, based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Mixer, in Sao Paolo, Brazil.  The business division produces acclaimed British formats, both scripted and unscripted, for local audiences and develops new and innovative programs in collaboration with Latin American network partners.
