BBC Worldwide Canada, located in Toronto, was first established in 1952 and incorporated as a Canadian company in 2002.  Headed up by Chief Operating Officer Hilary Read, the company has a wide range of business activities in Canada including three joint venture channels - BBC Canada, BBC Kids and Animal Planet Canada.   It also sells a wide range of award-winning British programming to Canadian television clients including Discovery Canada, Treehouse and Space.  Newly added businesses include ad sales for bbc.com and a digital distribution business, responsible for the launch of BBC shows on iTunes Canada among other deals.  BBC Worldwide Canada is also a minority shareholder in Canadian production company, Temple Street Productions whose recent productions include Being Erica andHow Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria.
